Nancy L. Ascher, M.D., Ph.D.Almost 100,000 children and adults with end-stage organ disease are awaiting transplants in the United States. Dr. Ascher will discuss what patients and their families need to know about finding the safest treatments with the best outcomes available. She will discuss how health systems are evaluated, transplantation outcomes and how to analyze them, and milestones of UCSF’s solid organ transplantation service in its first 45 years.
